Welcome

Starting or developing a new hobby or talent is an ideal way of stretching the mind, relaxing, and escaping the stress and pressures of life.

Our classes are fun, relaxed, and a great way to meet like minded people and learn something new.

We offer 10 week courses, and through the summer there will be single day classes.

Need a little more help, why not take a look at private tuition?

ABOUT OUR COURSES

Courses are based on a variety of activities and topics. Observation drawing, watercolour, acrylics, and other media are covered in detail.

Every ten week course has a different focus. Some terms are based around colour, texture or perspective. Other courses could have an artist inspired theme or be based on a particular art style. Life drawing, still life, landscape, colour mixing, portraits and individual ideas are some of the main topics which are regularly offered.

One to one tuition, demonstrations, slide shows, group work and projects keep the classes varied and allow all to progress at their own pace.

YOUR TUTOR

I have been an art tutor for over 29 years and I live and work in Northamptonshire.

I have been teaching painting and drawing to adults for the past 15 years and enjoy seeing people make progress and learn something new. It is a real pleasure to be able to help someone discover something new or achieve something which they thought was unreachable.

For my own work, I like to work on natural themes in vibrant colours. I quite often like to add an abstract element to my paintings and enjoy working in mixed media. However, as a tutor, I have to be able to work in a wide variety of media on a range of topics which keeps me motivated.

Every day is different and exciting and I never tire of seeing the variety of work being produced in classes.
